Your tile is cleaned by hand or with a floor machine depending on the amount of square footage and also the type of tile (textured, natural stone). All grout lines are scrubbed by hand to ensure the best bond for the sealant. Showers and other submerged areas are cleaned to remove calcium deposits and mold. This helps open pores in the grout to promote a better bond when applying the sealer.
With time, any good tile job will begin to break down. Whether caused from foundations settling or pressure from being stepped on, grout will crack. We repair any cracks throughout your floor as well as replace grout that is missing around baseboards, counters, and tubs. Cracks found in the tile are repaired when possible and then stained to blend into the tile.
It is important to seal new tile to prevent stains and discoloration of the grout and tile. Grout colors can be changed in this process by choosing a stain sealer that better suits the tile. Natural stone (travertine, granite, marble) should also be sealed to prevent from stains. It is applied by hand to ensure that coverage and clean up are done correctly. After the stone is sealed it will be polished by hand or machine. Sealing showers also helps prevent occurence of mold.
